1960's Tourist Information Poster
1960's Tourist Information Poster
This is an original poster designed and printed by Grafia Brno in the 1960’s in former Czechoslovakia.
The poster was used to inform tourists about how to behave in the natural park of Moravian Karst, which is a rocky landscape and protected landscape north of Brno in the Czech Republic. It covers a number of significant geological features, including about 1100 caverns.
This poster says ‘No’ in Czech, Russian, English and German highlighting the fact that it is forbidden to clean your car anywhere in the area of the natural park.
We particularly love the composition of the big bucket and ‘NE!’ sign and also the bold blue and yellow colour scheme. The graphic style of the poster means it works well both as information but it’s also aesthetically pleasing.
The poster is in good vintage condition with small signs of wear and tear mainly on the left side end of the paper. It has never been folded and there are no tears or pinholes at the borders.
