1960's Tourist Information Poster
1960's Tourist Information Poster
This is an original poster designed and printed by Grafia Brno in the 1960’s in former Czechoslovakia.
The poster was used to inform tourists about how to behave in the natural park of Moravian Karst, which is a rocky landscape and protected landscape north of Brno in the Czech Republic. It covers a number of significant geological features, including about 1100 caverns.
This poster says ‘fly-tipping forbidden’ in Czech highlighting the fact that it is forbidden to leave waste anywhere in the area of the natural park.
We particularly love the composition of the big pile of rubbish left behind the truck covered by ‘Zakaz skladky!’ sign. Also the red, black and grey colour scheme is very expressive and clearly send the message across. The bold graphic style of the poster means it works well both as information but it’s also aesthetically enjoyable.
The poster is in good vintage condition with small signs of wear and tear mainly on the left and right side end of the paper. It has never been folded and there are no tears or pinholes at the borders.
