This bakelite chess clock timer by Chronotechna was produced in the 1950s in Sternberk, in former Czechoslovakia.

The chess timer case is made out of bakelite with smooth rounded corners and a form that is reminiscent of old radios from the 1930s.

The chess timer has a very small chip on the bottom at the front and is currently for decorative purposes only. It is possible to refurbish the internal mechanics so that it is fully functional - on request.
