1960's Mid Century Flower Stand by Jan Kalous
1960's Mid Century Flower Stand by Jan Kalous
This Mid Century flower stand was designed in the 1960’s by Jan Kalous. It was produced by Jipro in former Czechoslovakia, a company that was mainly famous for their basketry products made of rattan. Their knowledge of the pleated technique is obvious on this petite flower stand. The oval shaped tabletop is wrapped by a layer of pleated rattan, and is supported by four angled and tampered wooden legs. The design of this flower stand is a nod to the Scandinavian influence along with a decor typically found in traditional Czech folk art.
The flower stand is in good vintage condition with some wear on the wooden desk and with some tear on the pleated edge.
