1960's Mid Century Modern Flower Stand
1960's Mid Century Modern Flower Stand
Original 1960’s Mid Century Modern Flower stand. A delightful composition of black painted steel frame standing on a tripod with four round flower holders at different heights and in different colours (red and yellow). One holder is fixed directly at the top of the black frame, the other three are fixed to protruding white semicircles. With a final flourish, these also hold angled red rods that adds a dynamism to the overall look of the stand.
In fact, this piece looks more like a sculpture or a three dimension abstract painting rather than just a flower stand.
The designer of this stand is unknown but was designed and produced in the 1960’s, most likely in former Czechoslovakia or East Germany.
These types of Mid Century Flower Stands were very popular in the 1960’s and were designed in various shapes, sizes and colour combinations; most Czech households wanted to own one! It’s not at all surprising, as they are still a lovely addition to any modern or tradition interior today.
The flower stand is in great vintage condition. The surface has been recently repainted in original colours.
