1960's Mid Century Coffee Table by Interier Praha
1960's Mid Century Coffee Table by Interier Praha
This round coffee table was designed and produced by the renown Interier Praha Company in 1960’s Czechoslovakia. It consists of four tampered legs, a circular tabletop with striking intersecting pieces of veneer and another round thin beechwood layer underneath the main tabletop.
In the 1960’s, Czech design moved away from the Modernist approach and was mainly influenced by the Scandinavian design. This influence is noticeable on this table as well.
The main design feature is clearly the material itself. The stunning tropic wood veneer perfectly put together in a shape of four triangles works well together with the darker wood of the angled beechwood legs and the additional storage shelf that sits beneath the tabletop. There is also a lovely detail of the round tabletop being held by four legs underneath.
This piece is in perfect vintage condition. The wooden frame, legs and the table top have been all cleaned and re-polished to its original condition. There is only absolutely minimal wear acquired over the years.
