This is an original 1960’s ceiling lamp produced by renowned Osvetlovaci sklo Company, Valasske Mezirici in former Czechoslovakia.
Ovetlovaci sklo Company has got a long history going back to the Austro - Hungarian Empire, when it was part of the S. Reich Co; the main producer of the lightning glass in the Monarchy. It was renowned for its amazingly skilled workers and they high quality products following the best tradition of the Czech glass making.
This particular piece reflects the design trends at the time and also the organic forms of the Space Age.
The lampshade is made of white opaque glass. The lampshade is held by a steel rod which holds the bulb. The actual support of the lampshade is a very clever invention of three adjustable V shaped supports. This allows the lampshade to be easily put down or back up. The rod was made by Napako Company, another big name in the history of Czech lighting design.
The ceiling lamp is in original vintage condition with some minimal wear. There is a small dent on the bottom edge.
