1960's Pendant Ceiling Chandelier
1960's Pendant Ceiling Chandelier
This pendant ceiling chandelier is a bold design statement piece made in the 1960’s. This piece was produced in former Czechoslovakia - a country with a great and long tradition in producing top quality glasswork.
The chandelier itself consists of three individual lights, hanging from a base at different heights. The base itself can be screwed to the ceiling and has a white oval shape with a copper rim running around its side. There is also an extruded copper part in the middle. The lights are hanging on white plastic cables with a copper heads on their bottom. The bulbs inside are hidden by the light brown glass shades with a protruding shapes and lines on their surfaces.
The style of this chandelier was influenced by French as well as Space Age and Brutalist design of the 1960’s but look still as relevant and modern as when it was first introduced.
This piece is in great vintage condition, with only some minimal natural patina gained over the years on the copper parts and with some small wear on the white base. All parts are original and fully functional.
