1920's Art Nouveau Ceiling lamp
1920's Art Nouveau Ceiling lamp
This is an original Art Nouveau ceiling lamp dating back to the early 1920’s. It was sourced from an Art Nouveau Villa in Brno, and is believed to be part of the original furbishment.
The lamp itself is a glossy white opaque glass globe which is held by three screws into a brass head. These three screws in the main brass head enable the easy removable of the glass globe, making access or changing the bulb very straightforward.
Inside there is a ceramic bulb holder and the whole part is connected to the ceiling by two rings with a clip between them. This is connected to a top brass rod with a ceiling wiring cover.
This lamp is truly marvellous example of the sophisticated lighting design of the beginning of the 20th Century.
This lamp is in great vintage condition, with some minor natural wear on the brass. There are no visible chips or cracks on any part of the glass lampshade. The wiring has been replaced in the past but otherwise all parts are original and fully functional.
